RT has a 1-year-old and is in a different stage in life. David’s Energy Absurdity of the Day is a top Substack and a must-follow.

The US Energy Policies canceled the Keystone XL pipeline – admits to the mistake – RT says it is not an apology, but rather a smoke storm.

Stu does a Granholm and Fetterman imitation – Fettergrahm stops by the podcast.

With 3 unique personalities, backgrounds, and one horrible team sense of humor, it makes for fun talks around the energy markets.

David Blackmon is a Forbes author and currently writes Energy Absurdities of the Day. He has several active podcasts with ….. His industry leadership is evident, but a dry, calm way of expressing himself adds a different twist.

R.T. Trevillon is the podcast host of The Crude Truth filmed in Fort Worth Texas and runs an oil and gas E&P company. Pecos Country Operating has been in business for ….years and has a constant commitment to all of their stakeholders and is actively working in this oil and gas market.

Stu Turley is the co-podcast host of The Energy News Beat podcast. While Stu is a legend in his own mind,

Stuart Turley: [00:00:14] Hello, everybody. Today is not only a great day, it’s one of my most favorite days in the world. My name’s Dudley, president, CEO of the Sandstone Group, and I have the honor today to be walking into the bar with two of my best compadres. [00:00:27][13.3]

Stuart Turley: [00:00:28] If you ever had that Uncle Mike over Christmas when he started telling a story and he said, three guys walk into a bar and everybody in the room just cringes. That’s us, except we’re talking energy. [00:00:41][13.4]

Stuart Turley: [00:00:42] So first around the corner, we have a David Blackmon. David Blackmon is a Forbes contributing author. He is the president and CEO of the DB Energy Corporation, and he’s got his podcast, which is the energy question, and he’s also on the Energy Transition international version. So welcome, David. Thank you very much. [00:01:06][24.1]

David Blackman: [00:01:07] Hey, man, happy to be here. It’s going to be a fun day. [00:01:10][2.7]

Stuart Turley: [00:01:10] Though. Absolutely. And R.T., you’re coming around the corner here. R.T. is one of the big dogs in the AMP space with Paco’s country operating, and he’s also the podcast host of The Crude Truth and Our Team. You look fabulous today. What’s your story? [00:01:30][20.0]

Ray Travino: [00:01:32] Oh, I wish I could say I was. I wish I could tell you the secret. I feel like, you know, having a one year old that, you know, is up all night, maybe, you know, maybe that’s how this. Oh, it’s going to be, you know, you know, we we just got back that nice little weekend getaway. I mean, the family and after all the holiday season, kind of like, okay, we need a break. And so me and the wife and the one year old went down to good old San Antonio for the weekend. [00:01:58][26.1]

David Blackman: [00:01:59] Awesome. [00:01:59][0.0]

Ray Travino: [00:02:00] When did the river walk? You know, kind of kind of did the touristy stuff a little bit this weekend. [00:02:04][4.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:02:05] Well, you know, we got some action packed topics for us today. And we’ve got David, your energy absurdity of the day is addicting. Everybody I talk to is like, hey, do you know David Blackmon? He’s got the energy absurdity of the day in my goal. You’ve only I’ve been on your energy absurdity day one time now. [00:02:26][21.4]

Stuart Turley: [00:02:26] My goal is to be on air, you know, every four or five days. And and so you’ve got a great topic. We’re going to cover that one. We’re also going to cover art. You’ve got a van tastic topic with the jobs, what that means to the AMP and everything else. And then I’ve got, you know, one that I want to cover and I want to see if you can guys guess who I am. Right? Okay. Okay. [00:02:55][28.5]

David Blackman: [00:02:56] You look a lot like Elizabeth Warren, I got to say. [00:02:58][2.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:02:59] Oh. [00:02:59][0.0]

Ray Travino: [00:02:59] She looks a lot like Elizabeth Warren. Yes, but. Okay, I’ll go with that. I was a wanted for days and I’ll keep it. PG You look for our. [00:03:07][7.6]

Stuart Turley: [00:03:08] For our listeners on the podcast, I’ve got a black hooded sweatshirt on and I got my Granholm’s. So if I look a little bit like Fetterman in Granholm, it’s my better Graham name. Okay, this is why I’m bringing that up. I’ll tell you he gives an interesting kind of cat. He’s somebody has said a few things like, What is it, Uncle Fester? Okay, enough of that. But let’s get back to Granholm. Yeah, They snuck out an article of an apology over the weekend on Friday afternoon. And David, I think you called it a Friday afternoon. [00:03:47][39.9]

Ray Travino: [00:03:49] Don. Drop it. [00:03:50][0.9]

Stuart Turley: [00:03:50] Yeah. [00:03:50][0.0]

David Blackman: [00:03:51] Standard DC document dump. [00:03:53][1.7]

Stuart Turley: [00:03:53] There you go. One of the things that it just irritated me to death that they quietly admitted that they pooped on the rug on canceling. They actually and some of the numbers in that article are just horrible. What are your thoughts, guys? [00:04:11][17.6]

David Blackman: [00:04:13] Well, yeah, I mean, obviously they they killed a lot of jobs when they canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. 10,000 workers were already employed on that project when Mr. Biden killed it with the stroke of a pen halfway through its construction. [00:04:31][18.0]

David Blackman: [00:04:32] And, you know, I mean, and canceled billions of dollars of economic impact for the United States and and billions more for the province of Alberta in Canada where the oil is being produced. And, you know, I mean, glad I’m glad they finally admitted it was what was it, 24 months after it happened and over a year after they were required by law to issue that report, they finally got it out. So good for them. [00:05:01][28.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:05:02] You know, I’m surprised they obeyed the law. Artie, what are your thoughts? [00:05:05][3.4]

Ray Travino: [00:05:06] Do you know? First of all, I think you’re given credit for calling it an apology for canceling the Keystone. Pipeline. I didn’t see anywhere in there that it’s an apology from this administration for killing any American jobs, which is what he’s done by the stroke of a pen since day one of the stroke of the pen. [00:05:26][20.7]

Ray Travino: [00:05:27] These days is really a whole other topic. I think we could discuss with the fact that I think since President Bush Junior, that the executive orders have only gone up and tripled every single president since since then. And and yes, even the Trumper did I think he even did more than President Obama. And I think Biden’s on his way to even do more than President Trump. [00:05:51][24.8]

David Blackman: [00:05:52] He’s already done more than Trump. [00:05:53][1.3]

Ray Travino: [00:05:54] And he’s I. [00:05:54][0.4]

Stuart Turley: [00:05:55] Don’t I think Biden has done more than any other president in the United States combined. I could be. [00:06:03][8.1]

David Blackman: [00:06:03] Wrong. That may be true. I haven’t seen that, but it wouldn’t surprise me. [00:06:07][4.0]

Stuart Turley: [00:06:07] No, I think it’s despicable. [00:06:08][0.8]

Ray Travino: [00:06:10] But no, but no, I don’t think it’s a good thing to answer the question. I mean, by the stroke of the pen, we lost 10,000 current jobs. Let’s let’s let’s talk about that. On January 20th, 2024, 21, we lost 10,000 paying jobs already. [00:06:25][15.2]

Ray Travino: [00:06:26] And, you know, based on this report, there’s somewhere between another 15000 to 60. So let’s just cut the middle. We lost another 30,000 jobs. So we lost 40,000 good paying American jobs that this president campaigned on from day one. And so I just think it’s an abomination that the fact that this man has not been doing like how many good jobs have we got? What for me, I love the way we’re bombing Asia. [00:06:59][32.3]

Stuart Turley: [00:06:59] And I was thinking the abominable snowman or something. You know, he did great with that word retreat. Wow. [00:07:05][5.7]

David Blackman: [00:07:06] It’s a key point to point out that those 10,000 jobs that were already employed on the Keystone XL project were all union jobs, which, you know, Biden claims to be the union president and not a single major union spoke out against that executive order when it was executed. So it tells you how in the pocket the unions are with the Democratic Party. It’s just you talk about an abomination. There you go. [00:07:35][29.3]

Ray Travino: [00:07:36] Yeah, I did not even know that. I think, you know, unions have their place and, you know, I think they they’ve saved hundreds of thousands of lives by having by initiating, you know, a 40 hour work with good working conditions of. However, this in this standpoint, I don’t know how a union could sit there and say that they did something good for their employee, that I have a hard time. How is this good for their employees? [00:08:05][29.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:08:06] I do want to give a shout out to the unions, for one thing. Why in the world do we have the lowest bidder build our nuclear reactors? Why don’t we have them controlled by the unions as long as their unions are audited to make sure that they’re spending the money wisely? Sorry. [00:08:24][17.8]

Ray Travino: [00:08:25] That’s a good point that everybody me the lowest bidder. That reminds me of the movie. What is the Armageddon? You know, where the Russians on the space station and there’s about to blow up and it’s like it doesn’t matter if it’s Russian or American at all. It’s built by the lowest bidder in China or Japan. They’ll build the same place. [00:08:45][20.6]

Stuart Turley: [00:08:46] That is one of my most favorite movies ever made. I that Russian that played it is just he’s a hoot. [00:08:53][6.3]

Ray Travino: [00:08:53] He is a fun guy. He’s done he’s done some good movies like he did Bad Boys to Hell anyway. Yeah, he’s he played a rough Russian in every oh eight. He did John Wick. I don’t know if you’ve watched any of those John Wick movies. [00:09:05][12.1]

David Blackman: [00:09:06] He was in Stranger Things two playing a Russian. [00:09:08][2.3]

Ray Travino: [00:09:09] He was in the guy. [00:09:10][0.7]

David Blackman: [00:09:11] Yeah. Yeah. He was the, the, the main Russian character in the Gulag and he was in the fantasy world every episode. Yeah. [00:09:20][9.2]

Ray Travino: [00:09:20] That’s right. [00:09:21][0.5]

David Blackman: [00:09:21] You can’t remember the actor’s name, but he’s fantastic. [00:09:23][1.9]

Stuart Turley: [00:09:24] Oh yeah. I loved him in John Wick. I’m a John Wick kind of fan, you know, We all should. [00:09:31][6.9]

Ray Travino: [00:09:31] Be that knew what was coming out. I wonder how many of our listeners or watchers viewers are excited about that new John Wick Keanu Reeves movie coming out. John Wick four. [00:09:43][11.4]

Stuart Turley: [00:09:44] Well, I know they they call me. I don’t know if they called you guys to be Keanu Reeves stuntman. Yeah, I look just like him, so, you know. [00:09:52][7.7]

Ray Travino: [00:09:53] Well, he’s. [00:09:53][0.2]

David Blackman: [00:09:53] About the same age, I think. [00:09:54][1.3]

Stuart Turley: [00:09:55] Yeah. Oh, no, no, no. Go over that. I’ll pay you later. They’re dead. Okay, so enough of the pseudo Granholm effect this week. And so let’s just throw up on that one, David. Let’s come around the corner where they won’t finish up with our story. But on. Your absurdity the day your Twitter feed, your substack and everything else is a real treat for R.T. and I to be able to go out there and steal your material. I mean. [00:10:25][30.3]

Ray Travino: [00:10:26] It’s good. It’s good. [00:10:27][0.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:10:27] It is good stuff. Highly recommended. What are your thoughts on this energy absurdity that day that I got so tickled about? [00:10:34][7.0]

David Blackman: [00:10:35] Well, it was based on a Wall Street Journal story that was published a week ago, actually just took me. There’s so many absurdities every day. It took me a week to get to this one. And it’s really a good one. You know, it it has to do with a terrific story’s probably 5000 words long. It’s a long story about the impacts of the massive buildout of wind power in Spain, a focus on Spain and a small town called FAS, which is being surrounded now by massive wind farms that are supposedly going to supply all the electricity needed to electrify an Alcoa aluminum smelting facility that’s right outside the city. [00:11:23][48.0]

David Blackman: [00:11:25] And so the smelting facility occupies about 10 to 15 acres of land. But the wind farm is literally going to surround the city and the citizens are opposing it because it’s going to have these massive impacts on their lives. [00:11:36][11.9]

David Blackman: [00:11:38] But the key point about this is that the Alcoa factory, currently, it consumes 400 megawatts of electricity every day, and that electricity is currently generated by a combination of nuclear coal, and it runs 24 hours. So, you know, it has to be 24 hour electricity supply, 400 megawatts. [00:12:02][24.6]

David Blackman: [00:12:04] So in order for wind power, which is the goal of the climate focused public officials who are forcing this on this little town to to generate to to reliably generate 400 megawatts of energy, you have to build two gigawatts of electricity generating capacity powered by wind five times the amount of electricity actually required. [00:12:32][28.7]

David Blackman: [00:12:33] So my point was, think about this. This is what they’re trying to do all over the world. And I’m not against wind power, not against renewables at all, but you are having to build five times the generating capacity to reliably do something like this. [00:12:49][16.1]

David Blackman: [00:12:50] And that’s an incredible waste of resources that are already precious on the earth. And the wind industry, you know, people don’t want to talk about it, but renewable energy and electric vehicles have massive mineral resource requirements that they have to have to build their turbines to build their concrete pads, to build the battery backup systems. [00:13:13][23.5]

David Blackman: [00:13:14] And if you’re having to build five times the amount of capacity in order to keep a plant running for 24 hours, you’re wasting an amazing amount of resources. And then there’s, of course, the land use, which is many multiples of of the footprint of the Alcoa factory itself or the coal plant that’s currently providing the electricity. And you can see how wasteful this really is when it’s solar or find sources of energy that have their place in an integrated grid, that this is not it. And we need to stop doing stupid things like this. [00:13:54][40.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:13:56] Artie, what do you got? [00:13:56][0.8]

Ray Travino: [00:13:57] Hey, no, I mean, wind is great if if you’re out a, you know, the the high school or the Harvard SEAL team, I mean, you know, the sailing team, I you know, that’s my first reaction right there. But no, for real. I do agree with David. [00:14:14][16.6]

Ray Travino: [00:14:14] All the ships that are not against any other form of. Energy. But what would we have to do this in a way that you. I can I could only vision. Now, what we see out there in level land area in West Texas area where you see just these acres of wind farms being developed and they are surrounding certain cities. [00:14:42][28.2]

Ray Travino: [00:14:43] And that is not something that everybody wants. And when you surround the city and it doesn’t even provide all the power needed for the city, what are we doing? Yeah, So so I agree with David all the way on this. I’m trying to think of ways to make it, you know, for fun episode here to be kind of disagree with him on. [00:15:04][21.0]

Ray Travino: [00:15:04] But you know, why do we need. David thanks for pointing out for our listeners it’s like you know it’s five times the amount, you know, a megawatt versus a gigawatt hour because, you know, some people don’t know what the difference is between a megawatt and a gigawatt kilowatt hour, you know, or whatever. So why do why is it that you need the five times the amount is so that you can hopefully have that four and a 400 giggle of megawatts all the time. [00:15:37][33.2]

David Blackman: [00:15:38] Oh, and, and 111 little factoid here. Two gigawatts of of electric generating capacity is enough to to power 1.5 million homes. [00:15:51][12.6]

Stuart Turley: [00:15:53] A large city. [00:15:54][0.6]

David Blackman: [00:15:55] That’s how much electricity capacity you’re building to electrify a single Alcoa smelter. It’s unbelievable. [00:16:02][7.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:16:03] Let me ask this, because I need to go check. I have never heard of an electric smelter. Those smelters are so huge, they’re using coking coal for standard steel plants and everything else. It’s not coal being used for the generation. It still takes a lot to run those machinery, all that kind of stuff. Right. [00:16:30][26.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:16:30] But the smelters require coking coal, which is the only thing on the planet that can turn metals into molten so it can be shaped. My understanding, I could be wrong because, you know, I steal my material. But on the other hand, I don’t know of any others in the world. So it’s like an electric port. You know, you go over to your electric pan on your shirt, you know, the electric skillet. It doesn’t work at all. I mean, you could put your face on those things half the time and it still doesn’t cook a pancake or something. Now, the world is an electric smelter going to work, right? [00:17:13][42.3]

David Blackman: [00:17:13] Right. And our friend Arena Slava wrote a great story relevant to all this on her substack last week that everyone should go find and read. It’s really terrific. [00:17:23][10.1]

Stuart Turley: [00:17:25] She’s funny. I absolutely steal her stuff too. So now, Artie, you were also talking about jobs as it relates to some other things. We talked a little bit about how jobs were impacted on the abomination or the abominable Snowman of mine. Yeah. What were the what were the other topics you had? [00:17:47][22.5]

Ray Travino: [00:17:48] Well, you know what I wanted to really talk about real quick is, first of all, how can this president be and pro United States when he’s cutting jobs? And again, I’m more worried about the 10,000 existing jobs that were already in place, let alone the futuristic 30 to 60000 jobs that the article talks about. [00:18:12][23.7]

Ray Travino: [00:18:13] And I think it also gives way why organizations and we talked about unions on why unions and organizations are so important. And, you know, one that really comes to mind is the Oil and Gas Workers Association. They’re actually here in Texas as they’re their main office, but they’re in California, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Dakota. You kind of see a trend going on. And they they are part of a group that actually has legislation, but not legislation. But what you call those guys that go talk to regulators. Yeah. Used to be one. What is it? The guys that I don’t know what do they lobbyists lobbying. It’s not like, Oh my. [00:19:00][46.7]

Stuart Turley: [00:19:00] Gosh, Auntie, you’re about as painful as evil. Oh, wow. That was like talking to my ex-wife. [00:19:06][6.2]

Ray Travino: [00:19:07] Who’s the. [00:19:07][0.6]

Stuart Turley: [00:19:08] Most. [00:19:08][0.0]

Ray Travino: [00:19:08] Wow. Excuse me, lobbyist. [00:19:11][2.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:19:12] We’re going to call you Biden. Okay. Oh, man. [00:19:16][4.0]

Ray Travino: [00:19:16] Ear lobes are good. My. I love my ear lobes. Never changed their lives. Never changed. [00:19:22][5.9]

Stuart Turley: [00:19:24] I meant that. [00:19:24][0.6]

Ray Travino: [00:19:25] No, but yeah. So do all. The Gas Workers Association works with hiring lobbyists that go into all these different states. Hey, the fight for our jobs in the oil and gas industry. And that’s what I want to get a point across. Let me get in there and say that that that those groups are important and unions shouldn’t be doing the same darn thing. And if they’re better, they’re not looking out for the American worker. So shout out to the Oil and Gas Workers Association for actually looking out for the American workers. And I think their president is Matt Cody is his employee. [00:20:02][36.7]

Stuart Turley: [00:20:02] And I just had an interview with him. If I don’t want to give an inside baseball. [00:20:05][3.2]

Ray Travino: [00:20:06] Oh, I did. I did just do that. Ed So, yeah, no. So by David talking about that on Friday with this apology that they made for our listeners, I use quotations when I say the word apology that it really timed it perfectly. [00:20:23][17.5]

Ray Travino: [00:20:24] So I’m excited to get that one out of that episode of The Crude Truth. But no, we need these type of groups that are going to sit there and fight for the oil and gas workers. And, you know, I do my part and take those country operated. We hire local and we hire experience and we you know, and we hire also that can do attitude because you don’t need or you don’t need the. Variance. If you have the ability to learn and show up on time and give it your best, you know, and stay safe. That’s the thing. [00:21:02][37.6]

Stuart Turley: [00:21:03] I always didn’t like. [00:21:04][1.1]

Ray Travino: [00:21:04] The safety swinging chain on a drilling rig. Doesn’t know how to swing the chain. I can turn. [00:21:09][4.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:21:11] Yeah. The safety guy at the tailgate meeting is just not necessarily a wanted kind of guy. Oh, man. I mean. [00:21:19][8.0]

Ray Travino: [00:21:19] They are needed. And I remember know, I remember the first time I saw a long chain. I mean, it was a big day because, you know, you all sit there practicing for weeks on end. At least I, I know that it’s no joke when you’re on a drilling rig, you know, it’s all lives are. Yeah. And, you know, you want everybody to go home at the end of their shift. [00:21:41][21.1]

Ray Travino: [00:21:41] And so anyway but, but yeah. So that’s why I think it’s getting back to it now. It just it’s just a darn shame that this president killed those jobs and killed all those future jobs. Well, I’m not seeing any new jobs being created on the mass level of all these wind and solar plants. I’m not hearing about major hiring. David, are you hearing anything about that in any of your. [00:22:09][27.7]

David Blackman: [00:22:10] You know, yeah, I know there’s jobs being created. I don’t know why they don’t talk about it, but they really don’t talk about it a lot. It’s not as many jobs as advertised. And I suspect that’s the reason they really don’t emphasize it. [00:22:23][12.9]

David Blackman: [00:22:24] But there are jobs being created and, you know, all these billions of dollars of new subsidies and tax incentives is going to create a lot of new projects with a lot of jobs related to them. And, you know, so, I mean, it’s going to be a real growth industry, there’s no doubt about it, in the United States over the next decade because of these two big bills that were passed in the last Congress. And, you know, we’ll see if grid managers can manage it all. [00:22:50][26.0]

Ray Travino: [00:22:51] Oh, speaking of passing, I think if I’m. Correct and I think I’m pretty proud of those 20 congressmen that stood up to the voting here over the weekend. I was pretty kind of side note, I was pretty embarrassed as a Republican voter the last few years that my, my, my, my constituents, you know, my my guys there have been saying, give us the house for two years and we can make the changes. [00:23:22][30.7]

Ray Travino: [00:23:23] And next thing you know, they’re fighting. They said, guys, I should have had all this planned out. That was my first initial reaction as a outsider looking in. But as I began to understand that, you know, Nancy Pelosi has built one heck of a machine at the Congress. Yeah. And that these 20 people or 20 congressmen, three of them are from Texas. From Texas. I wish I had their names. In fact, maybe if we talk about it here, Chip. [00:23:56][32.8]

David Blackman: [00:23:56] Ryan was one of them. [00:23:57][0.8]

Ray Travino: [00:23:57] Who did what Chip. [00:23:58][1.0]

David Blackman: [00:23:58] Roy was was. [00:23:59][0.7]

Ray Travino: [00:23:59] One of the royals. One of them just I don’t know. I’ll look them up. They’d be here to say that we got to say, but that they fought so against several of those things that Pelosi had put in place. And one of them is that only and this is what I heard, to correct me if you’re wrong and our listeners, the viewers, please correct me if I’m wrong that only a certain amount of congressmen and woman women could actually bring a bill to be passed. [00:24:29][29.8]

Ray Travino: [00:24:30] And that was something Pelosi had put in place or somebody prior had put in place. So for all these newbies that have been getting elected can’t do anything. They’re just these newbies that sit there and have to play the game. [00:24:43][13.3]

Ray Travino: [00:24:44] And that’s something I think that Gates and Chip Roy and all of them really thought is like, Hey, we’re not going to have the same same type of deal that we had with Nancy Pelosi. If you’re going to come in and be a person of the people, then you need to let the people that were elected by the people in their states and areas actually go represent, get you know, so I think that’s correct. [00:25:09][25.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:25:11] Did you sleep on Albert Einstein’s Book of the Theory of Relativity? Because that’s about the most brilliant thing I’ve ever heard from you that was out of the frigging park dead on, right? R t the thing that Matt Gates and all of them, the number one thing that they went after was changing the rules that Nancy Pelosi stuffed in. [00:25:38][27.0]

Stuart Turley: [00:25:38] You articulated that great. You did a good job. And I’m sorry for complimenting you, R.T., but out of the park, crazy good. And that’s all they were trying to do. They weren’t asking for extra power. Or anything else. And our Republican leadership took offense. In fact, what was that guy that tried to put that headlock on somebody that he got on? [00:26:01][23.0]

David Blackman: [00:26:02] Forget his name. [00:26:02][0.4]

Stuart Turley: [00:26:03] That was entertainment. That looks like a set at Chevy Chase. Choking hold out of Caddyshack. I mean, it was wonderful. I should have known that, but. All right. Well done. [00:26:15][11.8]

Ray Travino: [00:26:15] Here. Here they are. It’s. It’s Michael Cloud. Michael Clarke, 27th District, Chip Roy out of the Texas 21st District. And keep yourself out of the Texas district. [00:26:27][11.7]

David Blackman: [00:26:28] Yeah, Michael Cloud’s from Victoria. He’s a great guy. He’s the fella who has been he’s the chief advocate for the Port of Corpus Christi in Congress. And he does a great job. His district runs down in Corpus Christi and he has the port in his district. He does great work on behalf of the poor. [00:26:46][18.2]

Ray Travino: [00:26:47] I think we all have a lifeboat. [00:26:48][1.2]

Stuart Turley: [00:26:49] Oh, yeah. I need to get him and Sean on my podcast. [00:26:52][2.9]

Ray Travino: [00:26:54] You know, I Googled it just now so that you guys are looking away from the camera. And when I Googled it, the first one that came up was how far right are the 20 Republicans? And there’s nothing that was far right about what we just talked about that sounds more like it’s something on the fairway, a fair and balanced government, which is what we talk about all the time, is that that’s what we need to be, that we can actually have the discussions. [00:27:23][29.0]

Ray Travino: [00:27:23] And so, you know, I don’t know any of those people personally or any other true politics, but I just wanted to kind of bring that up because it looked it was hilarious. I mean, watching CNN drool and MSNBC just drooling and salivating over the fact that the Republican Party was in a disarray and disarray. [00:27:45][22.0]

David Blackman: [00:27:46] Yeah, it was all ridiculous coverage. [00:27:48][2.0]

Stuart Turley: [00:27:49] It was. [00:27:49][0.1]

Ray Travino: [00:27:49] Good. Well, that’s what they made it look like. It was it. Yeah, They were just that was like, oh, my gosh, this is the best thing since, you know, you would have thought it was sweeps week for them. [00:27:59][10.2]

David Blackman: [00:28:00] It just, you know, politics. Politics can be messy sometimes. And but you’re right, they had a legitimate grievance and legitimate goals and they got them done and, you know, eventually got a speaker elected and it only took, what, three days? So not I think it’s great. [00:28:15][15.0]

Stuart Turley: [00:28:15] I think it’s great. [00:28:16][0.5]

Ray Travino: [00:28:16] You know, we’ll see this as a Texan in the middle of the country. I do find it bothered. I do I am bothered by the fact that the majority leader of the Republican Party is from California and the minority leader of the Democrat Party is from New York. Once again, here we are, guys like that. I really feel like America will not be represented during this time. At least, you know, the Senate guy, Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, they have real problems in Kentucky. Well, hell, New York and California have real problems right now, but they don’t want to fix them. And the rest of America. [00:29:02][45.3]

Stuart Turley: [00:29:02] And half of our listeners and Mitch McConnell is not of this country. [00:29:08][6.0]

Ray Travino: [00:29:10] So I’m not I’m just saying and this is from Kentucky, where I believe in the individual reaching out. Okay. [00:29:16][6.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:29:18] I’m just saying. [00:29:18][0.6]

David Blackman: [00:29:18] Kentucky’s part of America, isn’t it? [00:29:20][1.7]

Ray Travino: [00:29:21] Yeah. [00:29:21][0.0]

Stuart Turley: [00:29:21] No, he is actually more I know Kentucky is, but they elected that knucklehead. And that knucklehead has more in common with China because they’re paying more of his bills than anything else. His father in law donated a bunch of money, and that’s how he’s been elected all these years. And his father in law is from. China. Thank you very much. [00:29:47][26.0]

Ray Travino: [00:29:50] Okay. All right. Well. [00:29:51][1.1]

David Blackman: [00:29:52] Well, he’s married to Kathleen Chao Something Chao, of course, the transportation secretary under both President Bush and President Trump and Elaine Chao. Excuse me. Now, Mitch McConnell is the longest serving now majority leader of either party in the Senate. And he I seldom agree with him political matters. But the thing about Mitch is that there’s never been anyone in leadership who has a better grasp of Senate rules and knows how to manipulate them in favor of his party than Mitch McConnell. [00:30:34][41.9]

Stuart Turley: [00:30:35] But we’ll leave all this alone here because I got my own personal. [00:30:40][4.7]

Ray Travino: [00:30:40] Belief that all I was trying to say, guys, is at least a kind of turkey and Kentucky is part of America. We’re California and New York. Sometimes I don’t think they want to be part. [00:30:51][10.6]

Stuart Turley: [00:30:52] I would agree with that. [00:30:53][0.9]

Ray Travino: [00:30:53] That that’s something I think people need to keep on the radar for the next two years. [00:30:57][4.1]

David Blackman: [00:30:58] It’s the two most dysfunctional states in the country. [00:31:00][2.3]

Ray Travino: [00:31:01] Thank you. Thank you. That’s where I’ll try to go. Yeah, but. [00:31:04][3.5]

Stuart Turley: [00:31:04] D.C., is it the corner of this and function? Okay. All righty. What are your last thoughts as we close up here? [00:31:13][8.9]

Ray Travino: [00:31:14] Oh, man. I tell you what, just thank you for the opportunity. I’ve enjoyed it. Thank you to our listeners who listened to three podcasters walk into a bar. We we want to make this a fun show, and I think we’re definitely doing that. I know the truth in Energy transition and the energy question and the energy news, the podcast. [00:31:35][21.2]

Ray Travino: [00:31:36] We really try to ask some hard questions and that the energy news, The Daily Show, I think there’s a line between the two, and I like to think that we’re just a show of having a good time. So, you know, as you can tell, I threw in a curveball there about the politics of something we did discussed in our pre-show, our production meeting. But but I think that’s what it’s about. So anyway, ending my rant. Thank you so much to all our listeners and our viewers. And we just want to have a good time on our show here. And that’s what it’s about. [00:32:13][36.8]

Stuart Turley: [00:32:14] And David, what are your last thoughts other than energy absurdity of the day? [00:32:19][5.0]

David Blackman: [00:32:20] Oh, my last thought is the Texas legislative session kicks off this week and everybody better get in line and get ready for a fun session. They’re going to have about a $30 billion budget surplus to work with, and it’ll be a lot of money spent and happening in Austin. [00:32:36][16.0]

Stuart Turley: [00:32:38] I’ll tell you what, guys, we had a great time. I’d like to let everybody know on our podcast that I’ve got Elizabeth Warren, Granholm and Fetterman. I don’t even know how to pronounce that joke. But with that, we’re going to cut Adi here and we’re going to have an absolute great week. [00:32:58][20.4]

Stuart Turley: [00:32:58] We will see you guys next Monday when record We’re going to try to have these out every week. So thank you all and ask questions. Go to the energy. Debbie Energy Dot live for David Blackmon. There is a form there for questions. Go to the energy crews. Energy Crude. Crude. What a great. [00:33:23][24.4]
